The Federation regularly participates in a variety of events designed to showcase the behavioral sciences. Our Science Policy Briefings and Science Forums are events that we initiate either on our own or in conjunction with our member societies. Other event types, such as the annual CNSF Hill Exhibition, are collaborative efforts organized by the science advocacy community. Each of these event formats plays an important role as the Federation strives to "Educate, Advocate, and Communicate."
To see a comprehensive list of our most recent events, along with with downloadable agendas, abstracts, and PowerPoint presentations, use the left-hand menu bar to navigate to "Recent Events."
Science Policy Briefings
Briefings are held on Capitol Hill and are targeted toward an audience of congressional staff. Speakers address a topic relevant to current legislation or address topics that may be legislatively relevant in the future, so that decision-makers may consider available behavioral data before making legislative decisions.
Science Forums
Our Science Forums are intended for an entirely different audience: Federal funding agency staff (NIH, NSF, the State Department) and academic researchers. A Science Forum focuses on an interchange of perspectives and knowledge from which a diverse group can benefit.
Other Events
Not all of the events in which we participate fall under the sole purview of the Federation. We are regular participants in coalition efforts that involve other members of the science advocacy community.
